Find the measure and make a proposal

A favorable preview is not an enacted law. In Geoplanetical, open Legislation, find the measure you want to change, and select its card. Choose a proposed value or legal option, then check how that proposal must become law.

The developer's examples include the working week, retirement age and minimum wage. Your party and the offices it controls determine the actions available; being in opposition does not always prevent sponsoring a bill if your party has seats with legislative powers.

Check the votes before tabling the bill

Read the support forecast and the majority required for the proposal. Use the party voting line where available, or contact another party leader through Cablegram to ask for support. An accepted request can change that party's voting line, but a request can also be refused.

Select Table the bill when you are ready to submit. Selecting a new value in the preview alone does not change the law. Sponsoring legislation from opposition can cost influence, so check the cost rather than assuming party money and influence are interchangeable.

Follow the whole procedure

Return to the law card to follow debate and voting. A bill you sponsored can be withdrawn while it is in debate.

Passing one vote may not finish the process. Depending on the constitution, the reform can require another chamber, executive assent or further review. You can make an assent decision only if you control the relevant office. Check the actual status before treating a policy as active.

Coalition membership is not a substitute for the bill's own support forecast. The official instructions explicitly distinguish the governing coalition from the votes needed for a particular measure.

Read scheduled reforms and refusals correctly

The October 29 version 1.0.2 notes clarify several parliamentary behaviors. Law cards show the election date for scheduled parliamentary reforms, and pending reforms no longer block a new vote that amends them. The notes also say refused reforms show a reason and that the pre-election freeze applies only to voting rules.

If a change is not active, read its explanation and effective date before assuming the bill has been lost or that every reform is frozen. The developer's official law-passing instructions provide the basic sequence; your country's institutions determine the remaining requirements.

FAQ

Why did changing a slider not change the law?

The preview prepares a proposal. You still need to submit it and complete the applicable procedure.

Can an opposition party propose a law?

It can when it holds seats with the relevant legislative powers. The votes and any influence cost still matter.

Does a parliamentary majority guarantee immediate enactment?

No. Another chamber, assent, review or a scheduled effective date can remain part of the process.
