Start With a Productive-Investment Program
To invest in industry in Geoplanetical, open Business & Investment → Productive investment, then choose Prepare an investment. Select what you want to develop, set a goal, and review the proposed projects before authorizing the program. A budget commitment starts a process; it does not instantly create finished factories or jobs.
The official industrial-investment guide distinguishes selecting a target from authorizing and following its construction.
Choose Your Target and Objective
You can target a company, a specific good, or an entire sector. When targeting a sector, you can also identify goods to favor within it.
Choose the objective that matches the problem you are trying to solve:
- Produce more at home for domestic production.
- Sell more abroad for exports.
- Create jobs for employment.
- Reduce a critical dependence for a supply vulnerability.
Then set the program's maximum budget and duration. Keeping the objective explicit makes it easier to judge the assessment against your actual goal rather than assuming every investment achieves all four outcomes equally.
Review the First Project Before Authorizing
Read the assessment and the first proposed project. Check available workers, supplies, electricity, and export transport where those constraints are shown. Authorize the program when the proposal fits your plan.
Those checks are part of the investment decision. A country short of electricity or construction inputs may have a different problem from a country with insufficient production capacity; committing money alone does not remove every constraint.
The October 29 release notes add fish and timber to productive investment. That is a specific update to eligible production, not evidence that every resource or industry shares identical construction rules.
Follow Spending and Existing Construction
Use the program's file to track committed spending and construction. The program selects further projects within its approved budget and duration.
Stop new commitments prevents future allocations. Construction already committed continues, so this control is not an instant cancellation of every project underway.
Businesses can also expand on their own when demand, expected returns, and financing support investment. Keep that private activity separate from the public program you authorized.
FAQ
Can I invest in one product instead of a whole sector?
Yes. A specific good is one of the available targets, alongside a company or sector.
Does stopping new commitments cancel construction already funded?
No. Construction already committed continues; the control ends future allocations.
Why have the expected jobs not appeared immediately?
The program has to progress through its projects and construction. Check its file and the requirements shown rather than treating the authorization as completed production.
